This is another goo Chicken Soup Book!! There are times that i laugh till i tear but there are times that my eyes collects tears and my heart aches in pains. This book contains many happiness, joy, but also sadness. I remember read one of the stories called "Friends" by Karen Del Tufo and i have this nostalgic feelings like when my fishes die. In the story, Sam who is a dog was adopted by a couple and later adopted a gray cat named Lighting. Eventually the dog and kitten developed a friendship relationship. But Sam who is suffering from a weak heart and they have to let them go. And Lightening realized that his best friend will never come back but will always remember Sam

I love animals. I've had this book for a long time; my mother gave it to me as a gift once. I decided to pick it up recently, because I was sad, I had a lot of time on my hands, and I had nothing new to read. I wasn't expecting much, because I don't remember appreciating the book as a kid. I am not sure if the stories were extra touching because they were really great or because I am a pet lover and I was just feeling really emotional at the time... Anyhow, I BAWLED. I sobbed through at least every story in the first chapter. It left me thinking, "WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME?" I figured it deserved a high rating since it was able to hit me in the heart that strongly.

This story full of stories is probably my favorite book ever. It has humor, and sadness, and happiness combined. It is such a great book, and I read and reread the stories over and over again. I have been inspired by this book for more than enough times, and it will continue to inspire me always.

This book made me cry more than most, in the most heart wrenching kind of way. If you have ever loved an animal, the stories in this book are sure to touch your soul. There were a couple stories that were a bit too sappy or a bit melodramatic or a bit dated, which is why I gave the book 4 stars instead of 5. The remaining stories though, they are 5 star stories. And they stick with you!!

My all time favorite series. Makes me cry, laugh, wish, hope and dream more than any series I have ever read. I love animals more than life itself so this book broke and relighted my heart overall and over. It took weeks to get over some stories. The tough stuff novel kept me crying way past my bed time. On mothers and daughters I left a little piece of me between the pages. It helped to reunite me with my family more than any series I have ever read before. I couldn't recommend these books more, great stories for anyone.

Mari lanjut baca Chicken Soup for the Cat & Dog Lover's Soul! :) *cepak2 tisu

This book is a must-read! Even though I haven't had the chance to have a pet (but I will someday!), I love all (most) creatures, especially cats, dogs, pigs and sheep <3It made me laugh, cry (yes, mostly cry), think, and have hope. It has tons of short adorable stories, so be sure to check it out, you won't be able to put it down!

Many celebrity contributions in this edition. Pet stories from Gilda Radner (her dog attempted suicide to get Gene Wilder to marry her!) to James Herriot and Betty White. My only complaint is that the individual stories should have a pre-rating system of 1 tissue, 2 tissues, 3 tissues, on up to you're going to bawl your eyes out! LOL

I had this book, & I think I loaned it to someone. This is a collection of stories that will by turns make you smile & make you sad. But it will definitely touch your heart. I would recommend it to anyone who holds a special place in their heart for their pets, no matter if it's a fish or a dog.

If you are a pet lover, you will enjoy this book. I found myself laughing, crying, and sometimes even amazed at these wonderful creatures. A light and relaxing read, this is a very good series. I have read other books in this series, and find myself picking one up whenever I need some comfort.

Well, I'm home sick and have been dosing myself with "Chicken Soup" all day. And I have to say, it's probably the Powerade making me feel better, not the books. Especially this one, which was downright depressing. If you couldn't guess, this particular Chicken Soup book is about pets. The feathered and the furred kind and even a little bit of the scaly. While most of the stories seem to be about dogs, there's quite a bit of cats, a few horses, a couple stories about birds, and even one about a snake. The stories are somewhat memorable, mainly because they seem to try to make you shed a tear. There is so much sickness, death, and abuse in this book that I can't really call it heartwarming. For every positive story there are three more where the animal dies or develops cancer or its owner has cancer. The story of "Frisk" was one of those sad ones, in which a poor old man has a cat who keeps coming down with a mysterious illness. "Soul to Soul" has a woman who has been abused most her life lose more than one to death in a short period of time. And I could go on.The stories are mainly about the animals, but also about how they effected their owners as well. And it really is the owner's pain that you feel in this book rather than the animals. They're almost a side note as to how the people dealt with the pain they were feeling. But there was some joy too, as animals really do make people feel happier. And I especially enjoyed the stories of the service animals who made visits to hospitals and nursing homes. All of these are short stories so the book can be a quick read. It's especially good if you only like reading a few pages a day, but it can also be read in one sitting. I do have one major complaint though, and that is that one of the stories in this book (about a horse) is also in one of the other chicken soup books. As many stories that they get submitted for these things there is no excuse for a story to be recycled. Ever. But alas, this is not the only book that will do that. I just think it's a shame that they don't try to make every work wholly original from the others. An ok book if you don't mind sad tales, but perhaps not what someone who enjoys uplifting tales would appreciate. While all of the stories do show the compassion of animals, ultimately, this book is too heart-wrenching.Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's SoulCopyright 1998403 pagesReview by M. I just finished this book which I have been reading for awhile now. As I was reading through the pages of the book, I came across the reading a little different than most books are. Usually in most books it's ONE story with chapters, well in this book there are short stories(including chapters) about animals narrated by people. I had to get used to the setup of it. Once I got used to it, it was easier for me to navigate through it. There are many chapters in the index part of the book, & they are labeled different titles all associated with what the topic is of each chapter. There is a chapter on the loss of pets, companionship & much more. Basically the book covers all aspects of animal/human interaction. I found this book to be really heartwarming in some ways, but in others ways sad. I would say there are more inspiring stories then sad stories so it's worth the read. If you love, cats, dogs, gorillas, etc, then I recommend this wonderful book.

Actually I'm no big fan of Chicken Soup series, yes, it's inspiring yet enjoyable books, but for me it's a boring book.....until I discover "for the Pet Lover's Soul"Maybe you'll think that I'm a retarded person who laugh and cry for pets, but honestly i find that the bonds between me and my pets is strong, compare to human being.some of these story really made me cry, and it triggered my memories of my pass pets, especially my dog who died when I was eight years old. From pets, we learn about loyalty, courage, honest, friendship and love. if we want to show them that we're truly care for them, eventually they will show us their world and give everything that they can give to us.isn't it strange to find that from these simple and loving God's creatures we can learn more about love and then make us want to discover more about humanity and friendship

$1.99I really don't know how to explain this book except if you have ever had a pet of any kind, be sure to have some Kleenex on hand.On the other hand, there are stories in here that will teach you and make you laugh. Many of these stories are about cats and dogs, but there are so many other animals and critters represented. Not all were pets as the title suggests, but the ones that were not pets -- Dolphins, deer, a cheat and a field mouse to name a few -- still had something to teach the people they came in touch with, just as we all do.Some of the proceeds for all of the Chicken Soup Books, and this one is no exception which I can appreciate a great deal. I also remember that I had a paper copy of this at one time and found a veterinarian close to where I lived at the time when I really needed one.

How do I review this amazing book?I laughed. I cried. My heart ached, and filled with joy. Many people contributed to this wonderful collection. They share their tales of rescue, healing, unconditional love, and letting go.Heroes of all shapes and sizes roam these pages, both animal and human. It’s a large book yet it reads fast. The chapters are short, most are two to three pages, and there are some fun cartoons scattered throughout.I can’t urge you strongly enough to read this book. It’s now found a permanent home on my coffee table. I pick it up often. Open to a random page. And read again.I picked this up at my favorite used book store. I never know what gems I'll find in the stacks.

Chicken soup for the Pet lovers soul is just amazing. I read this because its nice to read stories about pets that have come back or that have done wonderful things to help people cope. Recently my dog ran away( someone left the door open); however we know one of the neighbors has him and doesn't want to give him back. The stories in this book really helped me keep up hope that the man will comre to his senses and give us our dog back, or that someone will see him with our dog and stand up to him so that we can have him back.I recommend this book to anyone who has ever had a pet and has loved them very much(hopefully everyone), and even to those who haven't because this Chicken Soup will really cure your soul as do all their other books.

This book is so good. It is filled with emotions that warm your heart. In fact it is so good that it made me cry. This book is about peoples stories about pets and their views.I totally recommend this book especially if you are a animal lover. I do recommend a box of tissues because there is a possibility you will cry. Dont get me wrong not all of the book is sad. There are some stories that will make you smile. Another reason i like this book is because it is divided into a lot of stories and its catagorized very well, so you understand better why the book is organized the way it is. Read this book it has beautiful stories.

The stories in here were really lovely, some happy some sad but all well worth reading. I find it is the kind of book that you can easily pick off the shelf when you feel like reading something and pick out a section that suits what you feel like reading. Keeping for just when you're in the mood for a few little stories. A must get for any animal lovers out there. I like it because even having read the whole thing, going back to it some stories you forget are in there so can find enjoyment again and again.

As a pet lover, I of course enjoyed reading all of these wonderful stories about people's relationships with their animals. However, in some ways, I would rather have had fewer stories that were so short in length. Many of the stories left me wanting to know more, or to at least have had a more in-depth description of the animal/person/relationship/situation, etc. I found it really frustrating at times, but all in all, it was a good book to read when I was really tired and needed something easy to pick up.

Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's SoulThis version of Chicken Soup must have been an older one, because I bought one for my Aunt for Christmas and it was specifically about dogs and cats... they also had other for different animals. The copy I read included dogs, cats, horses, and assortment of birds, etc. A lot of the stories were sad and I don't like to read things deliberately that make me sad, but I hope that none of the dog and cat stories in this copy were sacrificed to make the updated version since they were all very interesting.

I always love a Chicken Soup for the Soul book, and any about animals even more so. This one features the animals of both celebrities and ordinary folk, and it was truly a delight to read. At times I was almost teary with the emotion, and at others I wanted to laugh aloud. There are cats, dogs, horses, parrots and many more stories to be found here. This one was an op shop find I think, so even better. All these wonderful stories for $2. A bargain, and sure to put a smile on your face. Five stars.
