from the heart Reviews
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review. Having read Home Again by Lisa Emme and remembering how sweet and spicy it was, I was excited to read something with a little more kink from Lisa Emme. She takes us to an exclusive Yacht club that has more to do with ropes and sexy submission than boats and impeccable wardrobes. Daisy and Daniel know how to keep things interesting in and out of the play room. They are explosive, mysterious, and have a magical pull towards one another. Daisy Andrews has been hurt by love when she was young and has managed to keep her body satisfied and her heart at distance for the last ten years. When a mysterious new Dom shows up and causes her temper to flare, her body to submit, and her tattoo to change, she is finding it impossible to keep her heart from becoming involved. I love how Lisa portrays Daisy as a strong sassy submissive who knows her own mind and isn't afraid to stand up to the sexy domineering Daniel. Daniel is back in town for good and has taken an special interest in the Yacht club but is searching for more than just the kink lifestyle. He wants a strong submissive that is more than just a play mate. The moment he encounters Daisy, something about her intrigues him and he just knows she is what he is looking for. He just has to convince his stubborn little submissive that this is so much more than just sex. Daniel is hot with an intense, commanding presence that is enough to make you drop to your knees in submission and swoon at the same time. Lisa delivers an erotic tale that starts in the playroom and ends in the readers heart. She brings the world of BDSM and magic together to create a short story that is stimulating with a touch of another world. I enjoyed every minute of From the Heart and look forward to reading more about this spicy club where grownups come to satisfy their darker needs. One could only guess at the sexy surprises she has planned for her readers in Two For One, the second book in the Yacht Club series. As with every great read, my only complaint is that it had to come to an end. I highly recommend for a fictional world full of tie me up action with a an extra twist.
3.5 StarsThis was a great start to this series. It was a short, sweet, sexy read. Daisy is 28 years old and is a relatable and likable heroine (though personally, I did find some of the foot stomping a little immature for her age), who had been burned by love in the past and hasn't been with anyone seriously since her ex. She's a member of the Yacht Club which is an exclusive BDSM and eventually ends up meeting the hero of the book, Daniel, when he hires her services to cater a party. She tries to fight his advances, but Daniel gives a decent chase. Daniel was a sexy and fairly, commanding Dom. I loved the mysterious character of Nonna, and Daisy's best friend Ava as well. Not much is shared about the rest of the members of the club, so they remain a mystery that I'm hoping to find out more about in the coming books. There is an instant attraction when they meet and the author does a great job in building up the chemistry between them. There was a lovely flow in the writing and I didn't find myself straying from the plot and found myself rooting for the characters.I love reading books set in BDSM clubs, as different authors approach the rules etc differently and I always find this interesting to read. Some of the rules regarding membership at the Yacht Club (and also an incident between the heroine and another Dom) did make me quirk an eyebrow questioningly and didn't sit quite right with me, but again this is purely down to personal opinions and preferences.Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this read and am looking forward to the next book in the series and am definitely going to check out more of this author's other works.
This was a sexy read. Loved the characters and the story, especially the little bit of magic the author threw in. Can't wait to read the next in the series.
