Meet Your Soul: A Powerful Guide to Connect with Your Most Sacred Self Reviews
This is a book that will bring you closer to your soul, the entity that you really are. I have adopted many of the exercises recommended to get in touch with my real self from this book. I find it easy to follow and I am familiar with many of the teachings given in the book.Highly recommended.
Disclaimer: I received this book for free from netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This book is very new-agey mixed with pop-psychology, which is not necessarily a bad thing. I feel like I could use this in my personal practice.
Talking about finding your soul and life's purpose is very challenging at best. The author, Elisa Romeo, does a commendable job in this easy to read and understand book. Each chapter covers a different topic i.e. meditation, what's my life's purpose, discerning golden breadcrumbs, finding beauty, etc. She breaks each section down into an easy to digest kernel of information and suggests exercises to do to provide insights into your soul's purpose.I liked that mantra of this book is that "we are called here to love". The author doesn't tell you how to find or express love in your life, instead she gently suggests exercises to do to find out this information for yourself. The author is a psychic medium and a licensed marriage and family therapist. With that background, you might expect her to be a little preachy or "out there". However, her approach is light and gentle - helping you find your own answers.I decided to read one chapter each day with my morning cup of coffee - as a morning meditation/reflection. After reading the chapter, I thought about what I read and wrote in my journal for a few minutes. I highly recommend reading the book this way. It's a LOT to digest all at once. I really enjoyed reading just a chapter a day - which didn't take long - the chapters are relatively short.Excellent references are provided at the back of the book. They are broken down by chapter. So, for example, if the reader wishes to explore the chapter on meditation more - there are top quality additional books and reference materials provided in the reference materials. Overall, I thought this book was extremely well done. I learned a lot reading it. This is a book I will save and read again.I would read another book by this author.
"You don't have soul, you are soul.you have body"Most of us don't realize this simple fact and this book uncovers the most important part of yourself which is your soul ,what is it and how to connect with the soul and let it guide your lifeVery empowering book that helped me connect with my soul through soul journaling which gave me lots of insight into my own life Highly recommend for Everyone :)
My life has changed because of this book.
I found this to be a wordy, lofty and "fluffy" book that lacks substance. Based on the author's own philosophy and experience, it feels self-absorbed and narrow sighted. The writing style rubbed me the wrong way; throughout the book, the author capitalizes the words soul, divine, and love each time they are used. She gives "the soul" the name, "Her", and uses this throughout the book, always with a capital H. In addition, she uses cuss words pretty regularly throughout the book, such as "shit storm" and "pissed off." It was more than I could bear and I was not able to read the whole thing. I skimmed the second half and made a mental note of a few of the exercises and book recommendations. The best part of the book are the quotes that begin each chapter as well as the book recommendations at the end. As someone who practices psychotherapy and enjoys topics of spirituality, healing, and growth, I thought that this book would have much to offer. Perhaps it has much to offer for the right person, but it did not work for me.
It isn't possible to read this book and not connect more fully with one's soul. This is a book about connection, light, and love and finding ways to honor who it is we are through the eyes of our Soul. A powerful read with excellent tangible exercises to foster further growth and relationship with the most beautiful part of who we are Loved it.
This was an interesting book filled with some unique ideas for meeting your soul. The author is passionate and knowledgeable on the subject of soul and fills the book with her tips on becoming more aware of your own personal soul and how it can help you become the person you were meant to be.The book is filled with lots of personal stories, exercises to try, and great quotes from people that really added to each chapter. Some of the ideas to try seemed a little silly to me and I probably will not do everything suggested in the book, but I did learn quite a few things and will be trying to incorporate some of the author's ideas into my daily routine.
I decided to read this book after a friend recommended it to me and all the 5 star amazon reviews to see what the hype was about. I was skeptical because I am horrible at meditation. This has turned out to be my favorite spiritual book I've ever read. The author does a great job at making far out concepts and meditations very friendly and easy. I now practice talking to my soul in my journal and cannot believe how much my life has changed because of this simple routine. If you read one book this year, make it this one. I have purchased 6 copies for friends and so far everyone has loved it.
